From A Mess To A Miracle

Heb 11:3 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.NKJV

Introduction: The last two weeks I shared with you the idea and concept “Stick to the Plan” this message can fall into that category as well. But I honestly didn’t set out to teach a series…

Transition: In Hebrews we read the worlds were framed; the entire universe; all of creation…in Latin the word here means: Out of Nothing.

God created the worlds out of nothing…God doesn’t need something to create something, for He is everything He wants there to be before it becomes…

I think this was intentional…because God wants his creation to know…

No matter what you have or don’t have He’s able to fix it…
No matter the size or difficulty of the mess…He is able.

Title: Mess To A Miracle

A Mess

Gen 1:1-2 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was* on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. NKJV

I love the fact that God was in the Beginning…didn’t show up late or later…He was present in the Beginning.
The earth was filled with Darkness…
1. Where there is no structure, chaos and darkness flourishes…
This world was in a Mess…
1. Gen 1:31

31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

ESV

Verse 2 shows us the world in chaos, in a mess…but then God by the end of six days DECLARES IT VERY GOOD

Not just Good…But Very Good!!!

Do I have anybody in this house that is ready to move into the VERY GOOD!!!

I’m Moving To Very Good

Process
1. Sometimes what we call a Miracle is God bringing order and structure to a Mess through a Process…
  1. I know a Miracle is the supernatural intervention of God into a situation that brings about a turnaround in the natural…
  2. But never underestimate the power of Process in that Miracle
2. The bible says, “He has given us the power to become the sons and daughters of God…” to Become
  1. Salvation is a Process….
    1. I’m saved
    2. I’m being saved
    3. I will be saved
    4. All of it by the Blood of the Lamb…

Slap Somebody and tell them: I’M IN PROCESS

Sanctification is a Process…

Don’t judge ME based on where I am today…right now.

Phil. 1:6

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ

I’m In Process
1. Right now something in your life may look like Chaos…Like a Mess…Like a Disaster…but if the Power of the Holy Ghost is involved in the Process it can move from a Mess to a Miracle

40 Days To 40 Years
1. God told Moses to lead the people out of Egypt to the Promise land…
  1. Now people tell us, and the bible tells us there is a short way and a long way…
  2. The journey could have been as short as 40 days…but it took 40 years…WHY?
2. Ex 13:17-19

17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, “Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.” 18 But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.

Another translation says, God didn’t take them on the short way, but instead the long way because they were not yet ready for the fight ahead…
See often times you will encounter enemies on the Quick Path that You Don’t have the Experience to Overcome, and it will cause you to turn back on the promises of God or worse…your short cut destroys you…

So God will take you thru experiences that prepare you for both:
1. For the enemy you will face
2. And for the promise you will be entering into….

Transition: If you haven’t learned what you need to learn in 40 days to enter into your promise or to conquer your enemies…the author of Time will elongate your journey to 40 years so you can step into your Promises fully equipped.

How to Move

Introduction: How does God move us from a Mess to a Miracle…Through a Process to a Promise?

In the Genesis account God said, “let there be light…”
1. Light is wisdom, insight, knowledge, information and revelation.
2. Contrary to what you have heard…Ignorance is not BLISS….

Pastor John Kilpatrick shared with us back in the summer: “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened…”

We all need the wisdom, insight, knowledge and revelation of God and others to navigate life….

Do you know there isn’t a Resource Problem in the earth; there is just an ignorance problem…
1. The bible says, He covers the earth with Gold and Silver like dust…
2. Have you every dusted one day…and needed to dust the next day…

So God says…that is the way He lays out resources…there has never been a lack of resources; just an abundance of ignorance…
1. See you and I need to hang out with people who walk in more revelation and information than we do.
2. Do You realize you are one idea from becoming a millionaire…or one idea away from helping a third world country discover their own resources…
3. See I didn’t go to college to learn how to preach…I was already doing that when I went…I went to College to hang out with people who would stretch my capacity to think….
4. If you want to know how to make a $100 an hour, don’t take financial advice from someone making $7 an hour…

Can I get some help in this place…

Darkness is Ignorance…
God Brings Revelation Light to Darkness
1. Can I go deeper
2. Hosea 4:6 says, “my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge…”
  1. The Background of this text is found in chapters 1-3…of Hosea
  2. Gomer is a prostitute who a Prophet pursued by the word of God and married her…
  3. Gomer is then brought in and given all the Blessings of the House but as soon as she is given the chance she’s out living like a Prostitute again…married to a Prophet.

Think about this…What is a Prophets job…?
1. A Prophets Job is to bring insight, knowledge, direction, wisdom and a voice of revelation….to a nation, the house of God, a situation or individual person…

Here she is living with a Prophet, in a House of a Prophet, but she’s choosing to live in Prostitution instead of the Prophetic voice in her life….
My People Are Destroyed for a Lack of Knowledge…
1. God is saying, “you are living in a house filled with Revelation and knowledge, but you will not allow it to penetrate your heart and bring change.
Church people do this all the time…
1. The greatest burden of my heart as a Pastor is when people sit in our chairs every week and hear truth, hear revelation, receive insight, yet choose to go out and live the prostitute’s lifestyle instead of coming into Covenant with the Voice of the Holy Spirit…
2. Not me…I’m just a preacher….

The Holy Spirit is the Teacher….

Transition: We are not called to the lifestyle of prostitution, but the Lifestyle of the Bride of Christ.

Address the Mess
1. Revelation becomes the greatest need in your life to Address Your Mess
2. Genesis 1:3 God says, Light Be…
  1. Light is energy…scientist would say…Light is a gathering and concentration of energy, that then produces light
  2. But God will not give you resources of revelation until we first have assimilated the revelation in our lives…
3. 2 Cor 4:6

6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Paul is referring to the Creation Process
That light is knowledge, insight, wisdom, information and revelation

God will always bring light to your mess….

Prov 24:3-4

3 Through wisdom a house is built,

And by understanding it is established;

4 By knowledge the rooms are filled

With all precious and pleasant riches.

Transition: Before God could set the earth in order He had to Introduce Revelation to the Mess and Chaos…before God can turn any Mess into a Miracle…He Must Introduce Revelation to your Mess.

Closing
1. Let’s look at the Creation account in the New Testament as I close:
2. John 1:1-6

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Verse 2 lets us know the Word, the Light was He…Jesus
See Jesus is the Light and He is the Life….

Jesus will shine in your darkness if he is allowed…

In verse 5 it says, “the darkness did not comprehend it…” that is also translated “darkness cannot overcome it.”

Isa 64:4

4 For since the beginning of the world

Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,

Nor has the eye seen any God besides You,

Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

NKJV

God says, since the beginning of the world…men have not heard or seen what God has been up to…
1. Have you ever found it nearly impossible to know what God is up to…
2. Anyone every had more questions than answers…
3. Every thought I’m having to take the long route around…everybody else gets the short-cuts…but I’ve got to go the long way
4. Come on…who am I talking to today?
Oh but wait a minute…I’ve read this verse in the Light of the New Testament before…
1. 1 Cor 2:9-10

9 But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,

Nor have entered into the heart of man

The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

10 But God has revealed (brought light, insight, wisdom, knowledge) them to us through His Spirit.

Genesis 1:2 “But the Spirit of God was Hovering…”
1. Waiting with Revelation to Break in with Light…
2. The Holy Ghost is Hovering Over Your Life ready to deliver…
  1. Insight
  2. Wisdom
  3. Knowledge
  4. Revelation
  5. That will bring Order to Your Chaos and Break into Your Darkness if we will let Him…
