The Life’s Blood of the Believer: Uncommon Prayer Part 2

 Introduction:  Today we are going to continue our discussion on the subject of Prayer.  We must understand that Prayer is to the believer like blood is to your body.  Without it there is no LIFE.

 

Lev 17:10-12 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ 1 NKJV

Phil 3:7-11. 7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ  9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 1 NKJV

Transition:  Everyone I know, wants to know God, many think they do, and they scares me because I’m not sure if we know God or Religious exercises.

  • In Philippians we hear the cry of the Great Apostle Paul’s heart…”I want to know God…”
    • What I find ironic about this is he has been serving the Lord Jesus for 40 years upon this writing and before that he was raised in the tradition of the Torah…so he knew about God and actually Knew the Lord Jesus…but still a Passion to Know Him
    • Fellowship – means partnership.
    • Sufferings – passion
      • Paul is saying, “that I might know Him and the Power of His resurrection and the PARTNERSHIP OF HIS PASSIONS”
      • What do you think the Lord Jesus is Passionate About…
        • The only way to know someone’s Passions is to someone’s heart.
          • If I know what you laugh about, cry about and dream about…that will tell me your passions.
        • The only way to know the Heart of God is to pray and spend time with Him and His word…
          • When is the Last time you and I simply sat down to pray and said, “Lord I have no petitions today or request only except to know your heart…”
        • You want to infuse LIFE into a church or into your walk with the Lord…begin to pray…
          • As the blood gives life to your body…Prayer is the Life’s blood of the church and Believers…
          • Hear this revelation: If you get cut, you bleed.  If you get bruised it is blood under the skin, but none the less you bleed…As a believer when you get cut or hurt…your first reaction should be to bleed (PRAY)

Seven Major Types of Prayer

  1. Pray the Prayer of Commitment, Consecration and Dedication

Phil 4:6 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; NKJV

  1. Matthew 26:39 – Jesus is the garden praying and he prays these most incredible words “nevertheless not as I will but as thou will”
  2. In Matthew 5:8 it says, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.”
    1. The word pure means holy
    2. Holy is to be set apart, sanctify, or to be set (positional)
  • When you and I are pure in heart in means our mind is set on God and His ways
  1. Lev.11:44 says, “I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves (set yourselves apart) and be holy, because I am holy”
    1. God is saying, “Set yourself in the same way that I set myself.”
    2. To consecrate yourself means to position or set yourself in such a way that you say, “I’m not going to stop until I get what I’m going after.”
  2. Too often when someone speaks of Holiness they speak to the byproduct of Holiness, not Holiness…
    1. See if I set myself apart…If I Set myself in the same way God sets himself…
      1. I won’t have to be all stressed about sin…my actions will be a byproduct of Holiness, not the other way around
    2. Pray the Prayer of Authority

Matt 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed* in heaven.” NKJV

  1. The Prayer of Authority is Praying from Heaven’s Perspective
  2. James encourages us to submit to God resist the devil and he will flee.
    1. Demonstrate binding and Loosing
      1. In Jesus name I bind you to the promises of God over your life…the Promises which have been spoken from heaven to earth…I loose you from your past in the name of Jesus and bind you to the future and Purpose the Lord Jesus has for you.
    2. Too often when you hear about binding and loosing you hear people rebuking devils and spitting and sputtering…notice the verse follows what Jesus told Peter, “Upon this rock I will build my church and I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”
  • These are keys to release heavens blueprint into your life…not simply to bind and loose devils.
  • Pray the Prayer of Agreement

Matt 18:19-20 19 “Again I say* to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.  20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” NKJV

  1. God moves within the Conduit of Agreement and Unity
    1. You ever wonder why the enemy wants you to be fighting with others all the time
      1. Fighting with your kids
      2. Fighting with your spouse
      3. Fighting on the job
      4. Let’s don’t even talk about church fights and quarrels…
    2. Then enemy knows how to stop up the Conduit in which God’s power flows in…
  • Ps. 133 says, “Where the brethren dwell together in unity…there the Lord commands the blessing…”
  1. Pray the Prayer of Faith and Petition

Mark 11:22-24 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.  23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.  24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you DESIRE when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.  NKJV

  1. We Need Life Changing Moves of God as a Result of Prayer
  2. Feelings are not the Punch to Move God; Faith is.
    1. My call into Ministry…No Emotion; Faith – I KNEW
    2. Your battle will be a faith battle, not an emotional battle…even though it is in your emotions that go into a frenzy during the battle….
  3. So, in Prayer do you and I have Faith to Know He Heard you Whether Your Praying Loud or Whispering
  4. Another place it says, “If you have the Faith as a grain of mustard seed, speak to this mountain and it shall be cast into the sea…”
    1. It is speaking about SCALE
      1. It is describing the potency of Faith.
      2. Move a Mountain, not literally though He could…but God rarely excises Miracles where you and I can exercise the ordinary
      3. The scale of Faith- shows us the Mighty is Moved by the Minute
      4. Often times we are using our faith to overcome our doubts more than moving our mountains.
    2. DESIRE – whatsoever things you desire when you pray.
      1. Not what someone else desires for you…
      2. God will give you the “desires” of your heart – A DIVINE EXCHANGE
        1. He puts in you and I a Passion for certain things…He isn’t Santa Claus…He’s God
      3. These New Desires is the Basis which we Pray in Faith
        1. 1 Cor. 2:9-10
        2. When the spirit reveals, advertises some things…you get a desire for those things, and you begin to pray for it…
        3. “Joshua, I’ll give you the land” now Joshua desires it like never before and sets out to possess it
        4. This is the reason I have been preaching to you about:
          1. Faith
          2. Miracles
  • Healing
  1. The blessings of God
  2. Because I want the Lord to deposit a Desire in our spirit for these things…
  1. The Lord is not speaking about Carnal Desires
  1. Frustration:
    1. CAUTION: When God puts these Desires in you, we need to be careful because the enemy will try to use the Desires God gives you to Frustrate you…
    2. When your dreams and Desires in your heart are bigger than what is in your hand it can get frustrating, and you want to quit and give up!
    3. “Whatsoever things you desire when you pray…”another translation says, “when it becomes your Passion Pray”
    4. Believing is how you get it out of your Dream to Reality…through the vehicle of Prayer

Closing:

         1 Kings 18:41-46 41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.”

So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.”

44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab,’Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.'”

45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. NKJV

  • Elijah heard it in his spirit…received the desire in his spirit…before it became a reality around him.
