Cover the City is a community-wide prayer walk around the city limits of Baytown, Texas. The mission of Cover the City is to see the churches and Christians of Baytown unite in this day of prayer for our city, bring meaningful change to our community through the power of prayer, and create a visible and tangible witness to the power of prayer.

The mission of Cover the City is to:

- MercyGate Church will have a tent on the walking route and will supply water and encouragement. You can help by clicking this link to register to participate in this walk! www.coverthecity.com
- If you decide to walk the whole course, expect a challenge physically, mentally, and spiritually, but prepare for a blessing! It is not always easy to stay in focused prayer for hours on end, and it is not easy to walk for hours at a time, but this is one challenge that will leave you with a sense of accomplishment and spiritually charged!
- While the course does cover 35 miles*, please remember that our goal is to pray for the City of Baytown collectively. You are not expected to walk all 35 miles. Cover the City is designed for you to walk as much or as little as you are able.
- We will have support vehicles and “potty trailers” constantly circling the course, checking on walkers, and providing aide in any way they can. There also will be support tents every 2.5 miles of the course, with refreshments, first aid, and friendly volunteers ready to assist you or take you back to the walk start, if needed. We will provide you with a phone number to our support crew, in case of emergency.
- Whether you are able to walk 1 mile or all 35, you will be a part of bringing the power of prayer to our city!
