SEW 2023 "UNCOMMON" Prayer Points

Begin your time of prayer by reading Psalm 100:1-5 TPT (The Passion Translation). Meditate upon the words and be intentional about believing that praise is the ‘password’ into His presence! Release an ‘UNCOMMON PRAISE’ for all He has done for you and praise Him in advance for those things you are waiting to see come to fruition.

1. Living in an UNCOMMON year means we must: Renew our minds with God’s thoughts! (Isaiah 55:8-9) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares The Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

• Lord, what do you want to show me about SEW this year—for myself, my family and my church?
• Our theme is ‘Uncommon’. Is there a picture or something You’d like to show me about how I should approach next week and ultimately this year?
• Where do I need to repent for having the wrong thoughts about You and Your heart towards me? What must I let go of, so I can live out an uncommon future?
• We declare in this UNCOMMON year: We will reach for the ‘higher ways and higher thoughts’ You have for us.

2. Living in an UNCOMMON year means we must: Face forward with His perspective! (Phil 3:13-14, Col 3:1-2)
“…but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” “…seek those things which are above…Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”

• Lord, we cannot embrace the new if we are looking back. We close the door to the disappointments and failures of 2022. The old has passed away!
• Forgive us for allowing distractions to pull us away from Your best—we FIX our eyes on You.
• Cleanse our eyes. Renew our vision. Give us a heavenly perspective for 2023.
• Lord, we declare: By the power of Your spirit, this is our year to face forward and PRESS ON!

3. Living in an UNCOMMON year means we must: Have faith for the impossible! (Mk 9:23, 2 Cor 5:7)
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” “For we walk by faith, not by sight”.
• Lord, forgive Your Church for losing our faith and questioning our future. Help our unbelief!
• Holy Spirit, Infuse The Body of Christ with Uncommon faith to see mountains move in 2023.
• Spend a few minutes in reflection—envision the impossible situations facing you and declare: “Lord, I believe--NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE for my God!”
• We declare: “The Church of Jesus will walk by faith and NOT be moved by what we see in 2023”!

4. Living in an UNCOMMON year means we must: Have strength and courage! (Joshua 1:9, Eph 3:16)
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his spirit.”

• Lord, forgive Your Church for allowing fear and discouragement to set in. We cast it off now.
• We heed Your command to be strong and courageous. We CHOOSE courage for this year!
• Father, Your perfect love cast out all fear. Release an outpouring of love over Your Church, so we can move forward in uncommon ways!
• Holy Spirit, bring new winds of strength and empower The Church to ARISE and STAND strong!

5. Living in an UNCOMMON year means we must: Have unity for the vision! (1 Cor 1:10, Gen 11:6)
“I appeal to you…to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.” “…Indeed, the people are one and they all have one language…now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.”

• Father, forgive Your Church for disregarding Your commands and becoming divided.
• Unity is a work of the Spirit—we cry out for the Holy Spirit to come and unify the Body.
• Lord, give us one mind and unite us in thought and purpose regarding Your vision for this region.
• We declare the unity of Psalm 133 over the Church and decree that nothing will be withheld!

6. Living in an UNCOMMON year means we have: Safety, Protection, and Well-Being (Psalm 91)

• Father, we thank you for your covenant promises to watch over and protect Your people.
• Put a hedge of protection around every guest speaker, their churches, and families. Protect them from sickness, interruptions in their schedule and unforeseen problems that could interfere with travel. Dispatch Your angels to secure their safe travel, without accident or delay.
• Protect our Pastors, leaders, worship team and church body from sickness, before and after our services. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that covers and cleanses all sickness and protects us.
• We declare: We dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under His shadow. We take refuge under His wings and have no fear of calamity. The weapons formed against us will not prosper. We are healed by the stripes of Jesus!

As we approach SEW, we encourage you to continue to ask The Lord what it will take for you and your family to walk out an UNCOMMON year in 2023! When He reveals something to you, find a scripture and pray into His word over your life and home. Repent for what has held you back and commit to 'TURN TOWARDS' Jesus in 2023. Ask for the grace to overcome old habits and poor choices and see everything MADE NEW! Make this your Declaration: NEW YEAR--NEW ME, In Jesus Name!
