Sacrament: Marriage
Prayer Points – The Sacraments
The Art of Biblical Marriage Scriptures – (Gen. 1:26-28, Gen. 2:24, Eph. 4:16, Acts 6:1, Phil. 2:1-5, Eph. 5:21, 1 Cor. 13:11, Matt. 18:19-20)
• Father, thank you for reminding us that marriage is a divine covenant that is ordained by You. You have designed our marriages for multiplication and increase.
• Help us to understand the purpose and the value of marriage. It’s not just a spiritual exercise; marriage is spiritual warfare.
• Your Word says, “If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything, my Father in heaven will do it for you.” The most powerful thing we can do in our marriages is learn to agree with one another.
• Forgive us for the times we have torn down our spouses instead of lifting them up. Would You give us the strength to embrace agreement knowing that we can always overcome the enemy if we agree.
• Holy Spirit, reveal the places that are still attached within us. Help us to mature, make the transition, and attach fully to our spouses. Today, we choose to put away childish things! • As we make the transition, would You remind us that we are perfectly designed to mutually show adoration, respect, and admiration to each other.
• Holy Spirit, instead of complaining about our spouses, help us to be those of maturity, who respond with prayer instead of reacting out of our emotions.
• Today, we choose to celebrate our differences rather than seeking sameness. It’s our differences that bring an advantage in seeing and discerning. Declare: “My spouse is a gift that I will treasure and value!”
• Father, You have designed us to cultivate not to compete. Teach us how to come alongside our spouses and compliment them so that love, honor, and respect are cultivated in our marriages. • Help us stay in the zone of respect, so that we don’t allow familiarity to creep into our relationships.
• Holy Spirit, remind us daily that the greatest way we can lead is to have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. He came not to be served, but to serve. Declare: “I am a servant leader!”
