EMOJI: Mixed Emotions- Anger

Jonna Gibson   -

Pastor reminded us that we have emotions but our emotions shouldn’t have us. We encourage you to take the time to process your emotions with the One who gives you the grace to do it.

Scriptures – ( Jude 1:1-2, Ps. 139:13-18, Gen. 4:2-8, Ps. 42:11, Prov. 17:22, Luke 9:23, Rom. 6:14 & 23, Rom. 12:2, Jam. 1:2-8, Matt, 5:21-22, Isa. 26:3, Matt. 6:14-15)

  • Father, we admit that we are emotionally complex people whom You created. Help us to not allow the complexity of our emotions to control our lives.
  • We realize that our emotions will determine the direction and course of our daily lives. So today, we choose to take responsibility for our emotions, by embracing the cross and surrendering our emotions and responses to the ways of Jesus.
  • Father, You see and know what is waiting at our door. Forgive us for justifying our anger and frustration.  Thank you for giving us Your Grace that enables us and empowers us to master sin and not excuse it.
  • Would You show us where our beliefs and behaviors are out of alignment with one another. Forgive us for doing things the way we want to and when we want to.  We no longer want to be double minded in our thinking.
  • Today, we choose to allow The Word to shape and bring alignment to our values, beliefs and behaviors. We want our walk to line up with our talk.  We want to know God and know His peace.
  • Forgive us for the times we have dehumanized our relationships, marriages, and people with our speech. Help us to always remember that life and death are in the power of our tongues.
  • Today, we choose to speak LIFE, to walk by faith and not by what by what we see. We choose to call those things that are not as though they were.
  • Today, we choose to keep our minds and thoughts fixed on the Lord. We choose to trust Him no matter what is going on in or around us, knowing that through it all He will keep us in perfect peace.
  • Declare: “Today, I will walk in love, I will walk in forgiveness, I will not be sarcastic, and I will not allow my emotions to rule over me and my actions!”
  • Declare: “Today, anger will not control me. My future and my steps are ordered by the Lord!”
