The Relationship Equation #4-The Odd Couple

Jonna Gibson   -

Here are the prayer points to Pastor Don’s sermon.  Pastor reminded us of the value of time, timing, and sharpening relationships.  He also challenged us to start PRACTICING SILENT WATCHFULNESS and the importance of it.  We encourage you to start practicing so that we can become men and women of God who know the right time to strike the waters.

Prayer Points – The Relationship Equation – The Odd Couple

Elijah And Elisha – (2 Kings 2:1-8, Rev. 1:8, Ezek. 37:7, John 15:15, 1 Kings 17:1, Isa. 61:3, Gen. 28:11, I Kings 19:19-20, Phil. 3:12, Ps. 34:8, Prov. 27:17, 1 Chr. 12:32, 2 Cor. 12:9)

  • Father, thank you for giving us fresh revelation of time and the understanding of timing. We want to be like the Sons of Issachar who understood the times and knew what to do.  Declare: “I have a relationship with time!”
  • Would You help us recognize the Kairos (the right, critical, opportune) moments and how to seize them. Open our hearts to receive the sound of connection that You are bringing into our lives through relationships.
  • Teach us the value of slowing down because we don’t want to miss the relationships (even the hard ones) that are connected to our future.
  • Forgive us for making assumptions about the unrelatable/difficult people You have brought into our lives. Help us embrace the limitations of our own humanity and surrender them to You.  We say, “Yes” to iron sharpening iron!”
  • Give us the courage and endurance we need to endure the process of getting the Pharoah, Saul, and Peter out of us. We don’t want the 7 seconds of comfort to be our only focus.
  • Teach us how to PRACTICE SILENT WATCHFULNESS. We want to be able to be quiet, long enough to learn some things and see some things as we navigate the entry points of the promise land.  Ask Holy Spirit what that looks like for you and how long your practice sessions should be?
  • Holy Spirit, as we navigate the place of the cutting away of our shame-based identity and insecurities, would You help us to have more confidence in the Grace of God instead of our own efforts. Declare: “Today, I will give myself the same grace that I would give to others!”
  • As we continue to press toward healing and come to the end of ourselves, would You remind us to PRACTICE SILENT WATCHFULNESS once again as we pursue that which has been pursuing us. Lord, no matter how it looks would You do it again!
  • Lord, when we find ourselves in the place where the full weight of what we are up against becomes real and we start to question the dreams and promises; would You remind us that Your grace is sufficient for us and that Your power is made perfect in our weaknesses. Declare: “I’m gonna keep walking and remembering the victories!”
  • Father, as we continue to PRACTICE SILENT WATCHFULNESS would You reveal to us the ways, thoughts, and ideas You are asking us to die too. We are willing to come to the end of our own efforts for others.
  • Declare: “I choose to live in the truth of the Word of God that says, “The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable (He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call).” God’s not done with me!
