We are Passionate.

We place a high value on God’s presence and His Word. Our desire is to see God’s Kingdom lived out here on Earth as it is in Heaven. We love Jesus with all of our hearts and give 100% in all we do inside the church as well as out. We represent our King in all we do!

We are Real.

We strive to love and serve people without expectations. We strive to create a real community that is not afraid to engage with the culture around us in order that we might see Christ revealed in them.

We are Engaging.

We offer people an opportunity to encounter Christ. Our vision statement is to see lives changed, relationships restored and destinies discovered. We take great care to create an environment that can transform people by the presence of Jesus Christ.

We are Relevant.

We choose as a church to invest in this generation as well as the next. At Mercy Gate, we live outside of the 4 walls where we have church. We’re always doing something in the community and growing together as a church family.

This is Mercy Gate Church

A note from our Pastors Don & Jonna Gibson

MercyGate church is a multi-cultural, multi-generational Church where people of all backgrounds and walks of life come together to worship, grow and discover authentic relationships. We are contemporary, upbeat and fun; but most importantly we are Christ-centered in all we do. Our vision as a church is to be a place where lives are changed, relationships restored and destinies are discovered. We look forward to having you as our guest soon and we are saving a seat for you and your family!    -Pastors Don and Jonna Gibson

What do you believe?

We believe that as a church we are to be a light to our community. We are a place where the hurting and hopeless come to get answers and leave with healing and hope. We believe that with the same measure of forgiveness that we have been given; that we also need to give out to others. We are the living, breathing hands and feet of Jesus. We aren’t just a club of believers that look cute but we are people on a mission to make a difference in this life. We are a family with ups and downs and issues; so do not be afraid to join us….none of us are perfect on this side of heaven!

For a detailed list of our doctrinal beliefs you can check out this link: Assemblies of God Fundamentals of Truth

How do I learn more about how to be saved?

The Bible clearly teaches that Salvation is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8). It is not brought about by anything that we do. Webster defines the term gift as “something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation”. God’s plan of salvation is freely given without us doing anything more than accepting it.

Here are a few simple steps to help us understand God’s plan.

1. Acknowledge your sin and its end result.
For all have sinned. Romans 3:23a
For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23a

2. Believe that Jesus died for your sin.
The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23b

3. Confess your sin and ask him to save you.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:9

Also ask Him to help you make a commitment to live your life so that it pleases Him by a condition of repentance. Webster defines it as : “to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the correction of one’s life”

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Corinthians 5:17

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for dying on the cross for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my life. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Now, help me to live for You the rest of this life.

In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Some Christians call this type of prayer the Sinner’s Prayer. While there is no example of a sinner’s prayer in the Bible, it is based on Romans 10:9-10:

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. (NIV)
If you’re wondering what to do next as a new Christian, check out these helpful suggestions:

Salvation is by grace, through faith. There’s nothing you did, or ever can do, to deserve it. It’s a free gift from God. All you have to do is receive it!
Tell someone about your decision. It’s important that you tell someone to make it public, secure, and firm. Find a brother or sister in the Lord and tell him or her, “Hey, I made a decision to follow Jesus.” And do it today if you can. It’s a great way to seal the deal.
Talk to God every day. You don’t have to use big fancy words. There are no right and wrong words. Just be yourself. Thank the Lord daily for your salvation. Pray for others in need. Seek his direction. Pray for the Lord to fill you daily with his Holy Spirit. There is no limit to prayer. You can pray with your eyes closed or open, while sitting or standing, kneeling or lying on your bed, anywhere, and anytime.

–Read the Bible everyday. God will speak to you through His Word! It is life giving and is our guide book in life!

–Get involved in a church. Being a part of a church not only helps you to grow spiritually but will assist you in developing into the person that God intended you to be. We were not made to do this life alone!

If you prayed this prayer and asked Jesus into your heart or even re-dedicated your life to Christ then we would love to hear from you! Please email info@mercygatechurch.com and let us know or you can call our church office at 281-576-5201 and ask to talk to one of our staff pastors! God BLESS YOU!

MercyGate Ministries

Freedom Ministry

Pastor Holly Murray is over our Freedom ministries here at MercyGate Church.

What is MercyGate Freedom Ministries?
We believe that freedom is not the absence of something, but the presence of someone– namely, Jesus Christ. We teach people how to engage the presence of God for inner healing, discipleship and empowerment to grow in your relationship with Christ.
What is an individual Freedom Session?
Freedom sessions consist of the person meeting with a member of the Freedom Team. We typically have a session intercessor present whose job is to quietly pray throughout the session. We teach people how to personally hear the voice of God in their lives empowering them to learn about their identity in Christ as well as equipping them with practical tools such as learning about the gift of forgiveness, how to renew the mind, and through prayerfully healing life hurts.
Freedom Ministries is not a counseling ministry. Rather, it is a prayer-based ministry. Referrals for professional Christian counseling are available upon request.
How May I Schedule a Freedom Session?
To schedule a Freedom Session with a member of our Freedom Ministries Team, please contact Pastor Holly Murray at holly@mercygatechurch.com.
A huge part of the Freedom Ministries journey is learning a new way of thinking especially about God and ourselves. The first step in that process is to take the Freedom Basics classes. We are not presently offering the Freedom Basics classes at MercyGate Church, but we have them available for you to view online through Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. Prior to scheduling a session, we ask you to listen to Freedom Basics 101-104 which can be found at the link below:

MercyGate Kids

Here at MercyGate Church your kids are a really big deal! Not only do we value their safety just as much as you do, but we also get the fun factor. While you’re in service, rest assured that your kids are receiving top-notch, age-appropriate care with a splash of mind-blowing experiences, rooted in the truth of God’s radical grace. Now that’s something worth getting excited about! We have kids services during any regularly scheduled adult service for your convenience.

Children from all walks of life are accepted and loved at Mercygate Kids. We strive to make our campus a safe place for children physically, mentally, and spiritually. No matter what happens to your child throughout the week, MercyGate Kids is a stable, fun environment for them to experience Christ and to be exactly who God created them to be! Each week at MercyGate Kids, our goal is to help your child grow in their relationship with Christ, identify their gifts, and utilize their talents to further the Kingdom of Heaven.

Our moto is “Where Your Child Belongs”. I would say my biggest want out of our children’s ministry is not just the willingness to minister to all children but to have the capability to minister to all children including special needs. I want us to be able to effectively minister to children from all walks of life. No one is turned away.

MercyGate Kids exists to disciple children through the basics of biblical knowledge and the fundamentals of having a relationship with Jesus Christ; while giving parents the tools they need to continue that discipleship at home.

Volunteer in Serve Groups

Here at MercyGate Church, we’ve got serve groups for coffee baristas, audio/visual, greeters and even emergency medical people!  YOUR talents can be used in our office, in the parking lot, on stage, or helping to keep the church beautiful. Outside of the church, we are always looking for people that are willing to serve others through various opportunities like driving, providing meals, or maybe just offering up a friendly visit or phone call. No matter how little that you feel you can give to serve, there is a way for you to change someone’s world through one day in a serve group.

Cove1026191_4013254386064_283457211_ored in Love is a wonderful ministry through MercyGate Church! It’s founder and leader is Wendy Jackson and you can contact her via email through info@mercygatechurch.com  This ministry is a blanket ministry for the sick and hurting. Someone requests a blanket and lets the leader knows what is going on and then the group gets together and as they make the blanket they pray over the person and situation. Then they deliver or mail the blanket to the recipient with the prayer and scriptures to let them know that there are people praying for them and believing for them. This ministry has seen so many wonderful testimonies and is such a blessing to the community.

Make Your Mark

14370086_958416067602538_7268431537563538734_n Make your Mark is a fundraising campaign that MercyGate Church enacted when we started on our Phase 2 building project. This is a 18 month campaign that is coming to an end in 2017. God has blessed MercyGate Church in a mighty way and we thank all of our partners and members that have been so faithful to support all of our endeavors! If you are interested in giving to our Make Your Mark campaign and you have an account via your giving with MercyGate Church then you can go to the “Give” page and use #MYM. If you are not a member and would like to give then you are more than welcome to mail a check or give via text according to the instruction on this graphic. Just make sure you use the hashtag #MYM and it will be designated for the building campaign. Thank you so much!
