UNCOMMON Series: Partnerships

Uncommon Partnerships: Step It Up Part 1

God can’t bless a secret dream.

Ps 37:23-24  23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

  • Steps
    • When the Lord says He will order your steps…that means they will be arranged.
    • The connotation is that the Lord establishes your steps…and then solidifies you when you take the next step.
    • Look at it like a baby learning to walk…That’s the picture I want you to get in your head!!!
  • Just because you fell down doesn’t mean you’ll stay down
    • You’ll never be successful without some failures along the way!
    • You’ll fail your way to success
  • There will be a series of steps on your way to fulfilling your dream
  • Failure is part of the success journey
  • The steps of a good man
    • No leaps; just steps
    • God is honored in the steps of process and progress

Transitioning: I want to show you some steps that you cannot avoid!

God told Adam “be fruitful & multiply”. I refuse not to be fruitful!

  • I refuse to allow a setback to define my future
  • I don’t want to do anything that isn’t fruitful
  • I refuse to see failure as normal
  • The gossiper’s opinion about you cannot shake you!

Title:  Uncommon Partnerships

  • I want to speak with you on the idea of Uncommon Partnerships…
  • KB Brochure you received is a Partnership…that is allowing Partners to do what maybe an individual cannot do on their own.
  • Let me show you an Uncommon Partnership

Steps to some Powerful and Significant Partnerships….

Step #1 – Planning

  • Success is intentional
    • You don’t get a degree without a plan; without being intentional
    • Nothing will change without a plan
    • We are taught to pray, but we also need a plan
      • In business they will give you millions of dollars based on a plan!
      • 7 years projection
    • You have to plan to stay married
    • Success is intentional
    • Do you have a long-range plan in your life?
    • Bishop Tudor Bismark told me one time…”Donald if you don’t have a 100 year plan for your ministry and church, you’re not planning with God.”

Luke 14: 25-33

25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

  • This is Jesus’ recruiting message…starts with elimination.
    • He’s clear that there is opposition!
  • Jesus is asking, “W.I.N.”
    • What’s Important Now…you have to answer that question…
    • If you’re in a business, study other businesses like yours. What sets you apart?
    • What sets other families apart from yours?
  • Jesus is looking for leaders…you have to lead yourself before you can lead others effectively…
    • Use your energies on your plan or your strategy…not what others are doing or not doing!
    • Find the activity of God…where is God moving in my life, business and/or family right now…put a plan around that…put action and effort toward that…
    • Do you ever ask yourself that question: Where is the activity of God in my life right now…
      • My marriage
      • My finances
      • Job or business…
      • Prayer life, Study time, worship…where
    • We do that in ministry…right now there is a special Grace on our Prayer and Freedom ministry…with other churches coming and having their leadership teams prayed for…
    • Another place is in Kingdom Builders…The Activity of God is all over this ministry…The last 3 years in Kingdom Builders we have done more than I think we had done in the previous 10 years combined…

Missions Partnerships Where the Activity of God:

Danny and Annie Clark are missionaries to Turkey. After spiritual attacks, having to back away due to unwanted attention, and sickness every time they began ministry in the city of Konya, right now a new church is being launched with 15 local believers.

Quote from Danny… “We used to get a report every month of 1 or 2 new believers. Now today we get a report of at least 3-4 new believers a day all around Turkey.” from our Turkish team leader.

Myself and two Turkish brothers traveled last night to a village east of Ankara to minister to a family who need mental and spiritual healing. We also have word that a middle aged shepherd woman and her husband who have planted a house church in their village are looking to partner with our Turkish gospel team. They tried to plant a brick and mortar church building and the villagers stoned it with rocks so they moved their fellowship to a house. Between tending sheep, Sister Huri as she’s known, travels around her region sharing Jesus with people.”

Christopher Alam (Dynamis World Ministries) – Christopher Alam has preached the Gospel in over 75 nations so far, and over 1,500 churches have been started as a fruit of this ministry. In the unreached areas of Asia and Africa, Dynamis World Ministries have been able to raise up leaders in Church Planting Schools, lead thousands to Christ through Gospel Crusades, and see miraculous healings.

MISSIONARY VIDEO – Sarah P.

  • This is an amazing young lady right here…I love what she has done…she found the activity of God in this unreached people group…and shifted a portion of her efforts and energies to these people and place…
  • It’s Going to Cost Us
    • Your name
    • Your reputation
    • Your family
    • It’s going to cost you time
    • The cost of criticism
      • People who will hate you for being Uncommon!
    • Sometimes it costs you your original plan…

Vs 32 – 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.

  • Choose your battles
  • Never go to battle if there are no spoils.
  • A dream without a plan is a fantasy!
  • Priorities (Very Practical Things)

Plans change; Vision not so Much!

Step #2 – Positioning

  • You’ve got to position yourself in alignment with your dream and plan.
    • You’ve got to prepare before you’re there.
      • God positioned David to be king while he was in the sheep field
      • David was anointed king….but still at that shepherd’s job
      • You know they started gossiping about David
        • I heard Samuel went to Jesse’s house
        • I heard David was going to be King!
      • People should be gossiping about where you’re going and what you are about to do!
      • Find someone who’s doing what you want to do and position yourself around them to learn!
      • Like arrows…you’ve got to aim them at something!

Could it be your dream is too small?

  • Does it require God?
  • Does it require a plan?
  • Does it require positioning?

God is putting you in a bow and pulling you back!!!

Luke 19:1-10

19 Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him,[a] and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6 So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. 7 But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”

8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”

9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Step 2 – Positioned himself

  • Position yourself to where you’re going not for where you are!
  • God’s looking for someone who’s willing to make a bold move!

Vs 4 –  So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

  • Zacchaeus saw what and who was coming…he got ahead of it and positioned himself….
    • You’ve got to be willing to climb
      • Climb over obstacles.
      • Climb above others in thinking and attitude!
    • This is your year to get God’s eye and perspective of things…! It’s an Uncommon Year

Vs 5 –  And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

  • Why did Jesus stay at his house?
    • Because He positioned himself!
  • Interesting thought – Jesus already knew Zacchaeus name!
    • Jesus can’t stay at your house if you haven’t positioned yourself for him to stay.
    • Zacchaeus is a sinner, but Jesus stayed at his house.

Step #3 Be Willing To Change

  • What needs to change
    • The first thing that needs to change…Have I committed my life to Jesus Christ…truly am I All In.
      • You talk about Uncommon Partnerships…this is the Most Significant Uncommon Partnership a person will ever encounter…
    • Change in my attitude
    • Possibly a Mindset that needs to Change…
    • Maybe it’s your geography…
    • Possibly your relationships and who you hang out with need to change.

Transition:  I know people, churches, and businesses because they were unwilling to change went broke…. Went through heartbreak, filled bankruptcy, or split.

Step #4 – Partnership

  • Your vision will need partners.
    • Good partners complete, they do not compete.
    • You need partners who are good at what you’re not good at…
      • The last thing you need is another person just like you on your team…
      • You need someone who is strong where you are weak.
      • Those on your team…do you know what their strengths are as well as their weaknesses?
    • Marriages fail because one person is trying to get the other person to be like them.
      • There are many things I love about Jonna…but one of them is the fact…She doesn’t try to be Me…She enjoys being herself and developing that….
      • Too many want to be their spouse or like someone else…
    • There is power in healthy partnership.
    • The Bible says: “Where 2 or 3 agree”
      • God is in the middle of it
      • You’ve got to be in agreement with your partnerships!
      • Alignment
        • If a car is out of alignment you’ll wear everything out in that car
        • It will affect tires first…that is the obvious signs
        • But it will affect everything else…till it wears out bearings, struts, bushings and can affect the motor if it’s a front wheel drive car
      • “The Regulator for Miracles and Demonstrations of God in the Church is Unity, but in individual People, it is Mindsets.”
      • How is your mindset and how is your unity with others? Are they in Alignment?

Call To Action:

  • Today you were handed a Brochure…this has three primary purposes…
    • One, so you can see what we are doing in Kingdom Builders…
      • KB is above Tithe Giving…and it goes to Local Ministry, Global and Future Generation
      • Now we give Two ways here at MGC…
        • Tithe 10% – this is entry level giving
        • KB – above and beyond…this is offerings
        • If you’ve never given at all…start with Tithing…The faithfulness to Tithe is when God blesses the Rest of It…not the Offering….
        • Offerings open the Windows of Heaven..
      • Two, so you can Pray…
      • Three…an Opportunity for an Uncommon Partnership…through Giving…
    • Next Week we are going to put a Card in Your hand…asking everyone to Do Their Part; Don’t simply do the Math.

Time to STEP UP!

  1. Plan to be Uncommon
  2. Position Yourself
  3. Be Willing to Change
  4. Develop Uncommon Partnerships
  5. Determine Your Partnerships Will be fruitful
    • If I’m partnering with you, it better be fruitful…
    • If I’m partnering with God…what is produces should look like God and I have partnered together
    • Reading is partnership
    • Educate yourself.
    • Ministry and Serving Jesus is all about Partnership
    • Serving in the Church is about Partnership…
  • Nothing in Life Multiplies and is Fruitful until it Partners…
    • Illustration of a Helicopter flying over the rice fields…they fly over was forcing the pollination (partnership) of rice so it can be productive.
    • Not every wind is sent to destroy you…

Salvation…
