SEW Uncommon: Pastor Don

Uncommon Anointing For Uncommon Times

Introduction:  Welcome to SEW 2023…so glad you chose this day to join us…today will be an Assignment more than Anything else…I’m going to teach for a bit…then I’m going to Anoint with Oil anyone who desires to be Anointed but Specifically those who serve…whether it be at MGC or somewhere else.

Transition:  UNCOMMON – out of the ordinary; unusual,  not ordinarily found or experienced…abundant.

Now here is the disclaimer…I’m talking about what is uncommon to us…but very common for God.

PUT UP A PICTURE OF A PITCHER POURING OUT OIL

  1. Anointing
    1. In 2019 I preached on the Anointing from the Apothacary…
    2. In 2020 before the pandemic I shared a message about the Anointing…specifically the three ways the anointing is administered…
      1. One to Smear
      2. Another to Pour
  • Another to rub in over a period of time…
  1. In 2021 I preached a message on the Pressing for the Anointing
    1. Olives go through 3 Pressings Usually
      1. The first is for Anointing…
      2. The second pressing was for cooking
      3. The third was for Heating and Lighting
    2. In 2022 Pastor Jim Raley preached on the Mimshach anointing…
      1. An anointing for increase, expansion, exponential blessing…
    3. In October of 2022 I preached about the Anointing in you and the Anointing on you
      1. The anointing in you is for you and your responsibility to tend to
      2. The anointing on your life is for people…
  • Let me use an illustration to communicate what I’m saying: the anointing in you is like a pillar…the anointing on you is like a basket…God fills the basket with gifts, miracles, signs, healings, faith and wonders for the people…but if the pillar inside of you isn’t strong…the basket will crush you….

Transition:  But we need an Uncommon Anointing for Uncommon Times…Why…so people can be set free…

Nah 1:13

13 And now I will break his yoke from off you

and will burst your bonds apart.”

ESV

Isa 10:27

27 It shall come to pass in that day

That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,

And his yoke from your neck,

And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

NKJV

We need a yoke breaking, devil chasing, Burden loosing, Holy Ghost Anointing….

The anointing Jesus spoke of in Luke 4 is all about other people…the Uncommon Anointing is for others not so you and I can get excited…and you know me…there is nothing wrong with excitement…

PUT UP A PICTURE OF THE TABERNACLE

  1. Aaron and His Sons

Ex 28:41

41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests

NKJV

Lev 8:10-12

10 Also Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them. 11 He sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, anointed the altar and all its utensils, and the laver and its base, to consecrate them. 12 And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him, to consecrate him.

NKJV

  1. Now there is so much here…but I’m trying to get somewhere this morning so I won’t be able to walk through this thoroughly…just take my word for it…
    1. There are 8 steps in the process that take the man of God from the Common to the Uncommon…
    2. All of Aarons sons were anointed with a common anointing…but Aaron himself received an Uncommon Anointing…which gave him both access and responsibility. DON’T MISS THAT…
  2. When Israel would make camp in the Wilderness…
    1. They pitch the Tent of Meetings or the Tabernacle first before their tents would be set up…
      1. Tells us God must be first in our lives…
      2. Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything else will be added to you.”
    2. Now where people put their tents mattered…
      1. For time’s sake I’ll just tell you…Judah’s camp was set up right before the door to the outer courts…
      2. Judah means Praise…
        1. If you aren’t willing to come through praise…you’ll never even enter the door to the outer courtyard.
  • Now there was only one door…on access point in…
    1. Jesus tells us that He is that Door…
  1. The Tabernacle is made up of three sections
    1. The Outer Court
      1. The door that gives access
      2. The Brazen Altar and the Water Basin
      3. Speaks of the Cross and Water Baptism as well as so much more…
      4. Many priests served in this area…
    2. The Inner Court
      1. In here is the Menorah…the candle stick…which is fueled by oil and trimmed wicks
      2. The table of Shewbread
      3. The altar of Incense…
      4. A select group of Priest ever had the opportunity to enter this place and serve…this is where Zachariah met the Angel of the Lord…
  • The Holy of Holies
    1. Ark of the Covenant
    2. Mercy Seat
    3. Glory of God
    4. Only the High Priest was allowed access to this place…
  1. Light
    1. Now the priests…the Christians who spent there time in the Outer Courts served and worked based on Natural Light…
      1. The rely on their own understanding, wisdom, insight, what is common to every person…
      2. This is where most of the Church lives…in the Natural Light…
    2. The Priest who enters into the Inner Court
      1. They function, operate and serve from the Light of the Menorah…
        1. Which is a measure of anointing and trimmed wicks…a measure of understanding, wisdom, and insight…
        2. But they also rely heavily upon Natural light that is able to enter the room…
        3. So, they aren’t completely dependent upon the Glory and Revelation of God…
  • Those who Enter the Holy of Holies
    1. First must come past the Altar of incense which is Worship….
    2. They only live and function in that place by the Light of the Glory of God…
    3. This is the Place of Understanding, Revelation Knowledge…Kingdom Principles and Faith that trumps every other perspective of thought….
    4. These guys are led by faith…not by sight…
    5. Let me make it practical real fast…
      1. Tithing – those who are outer court believers…will never tithe…they’ll tip God periodically, but to tithe…they think like the world does about Money
      2. Inner Court…have some knowledge about giving…but they give as long as it is returned…
      3. Holy of Holy livers and givers…don’t care…they understand it all belongs to God…they tithe, they give offerings and leave the blessing up to God…

PUT UP THE PITCHER OF OIL AGAIN

  • Be Anointed

Ps 133:1-2

133 1 How wonderful and pleasant it is

when brothers live together in harmony!

2 For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil

that was poured over Aaron’s head,

that ran down his beard

and onto the border of his robe.

NLT

  1. David is referring to the Anointing we read about in Leviticus…
    1. The anointing was poured upon his head…
      1. For that to take place the one being anointed had to humble themselves to receive the anointing…
      2. The one anointing never reached up to anoint…the one being anointed had to humble themselves….
      3. To receive an uncommon anointing you have to humble yourself….submit yourself to a greater anointing…
      4. The anointing you submit to you have access to…
    2. The anointing ran down the beard
      1. Beard speaks to us of Maturity….
      2. It takes maturity to get under an anointing…
      3. When you travel on Islands like the Bahamas, the Grand Caymans…you’ll be on a bus and when they are passing a tight place…the people will yell at the bus driver…SMALL UP YOURSELF…
      4. Sometimes we aren’t walking in an Uncommon Anointing because we are unwilling to Small Up Ourselves.
  • The Anointing that is Uncommon runs down your garments…
    1. This is how the Woman with the issue of Blood got healed…
    2. In Acts 19:11 they took pieces of the Garments of Paul and sent them to others and they were Healed…
    3. Wouldn’t you agree that is uncommon…
    4. The Point is…what is on the head through maturity and wisdom will flow unto everything else…
  1. Closing
    1. This anointing is for Serving…
    2. This anointing is for Unity
    3. Because the veil was torn when Jesus died on the Cross we now have access to the Anointing within the Holy of Holies…
    4. In Psalms 23 David says, “he anoints my head with oil.”
      1. David knew when sheep were bothered by pests and insects…that could kill the sheep eventually if they penetrated the head…
      2. David knew…you put oil on the head of the sheep and it will drive away the pests and the insects…
  • Some of you need a fresh anointing…because the pests have been frustrating your thoughts, your dreams and your imagination…especially if you have been serving.
  1. Altar Call
    1. Who desires an Uncommon Anointing for these Uncommon Times…
